Bio

Dr. Nicholas C. Laudato is an adjunct professor and former administrator at the University of Pittsburgh. From 1996 through 2010, Nick served as the Associate Director for Instructional Technology of the Center for Instructional Development and Distance Education at the University of Pittsburgh with responsibilities for Instructional Computing, Instructional Media Services, Electronic Graphics and Design, Photography and Electronic Imaging Services, Video Production, Classroom Engineering, the Faculty Instructional Development Lab, and for managing the center’s budget.

As a consultant with CampusWorks Inc. since 1999, Nick has worked on several major IT strategic and tactical planning efforts at dozens of campuses in the US and Canada. This includes substantial experiences planning and implementing change and creating instructional technology teaching and learning models.

At the University of Pittsburgh, Nick was a team leader in the revolutionary Information Architecture and Process Innovation Project. The Project defined an enterprise-wide information systems architecture and a methodology for business process reengineering for the entire university, and created a migration plan from existing systems to the envisioned system. In this context, Nick became familiar with virtually all of the business functions in the University. He led reengineering projects in student registration and media services systems.

Nick previously held positions as Project Director and Manager of User Support Services within the centralized Computing and Information Services at the University of Pittsburgh. He successfully managed the implementation of the integrated student information system across the University’s four Regional Campuses. He also served as Director of Information Systems for the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford campus.

Nick holds a BS from Carnegie Mellon University and a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh. He regularly teaches through the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and the School of Information Sciences.
