Admission to the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public & International Affairs is competitive. As one of the oldest and most respected schools of its type in the United States, GSPIA enrolls some of the most talented students from around the world. The admissions committee reviews each application carefully and holistically, and considers personal, professional, and academic factors in making its decisions.

All applicants must have at least a bachelor’s degree, and must complete GSPIA’s online application. All parts of the application should be submitted electronically.

For most programs, there are two opportunities to apply to GSPIA each year. Students may begin any of the master’s degree programs in either the fall or spring terms. Applications to the doctoral program are for the fall term only. Applications to the MPPM and non-degree programs are accepted for the fall, spring, or summer terms.
