Visit Campus

You are welcome to visit campus if you are interested in learning more about GSPIA. During your visit, you will be able to meet one-on-one with a GSPIA counselor, tour GSPIA’s classrooms and facilities, and speak to some current students if classes are in session.

Observe a Class:

Many GSPIA faculty have offered to allow prospective students to sit in on a class for a day. If you would like to sit in on a class during your visit to GSPIA, please contact or your enrollment counselor above to arrange it. 

Location and Directions:

GSPIA is located on the University of Pittsburgh’s main campus in the Oakland neighborhood of the city, three miles east of downtown Pittsburgh. It is housed in on the third floor of Wesley W. Posvar Hall, next to the University’s Hillman Library and across Schenley Plaza from the main branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. The street address of Posvar Hall is 230 South Bouquet Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15260.

By Car:

Parking is available in metered spaces on the street or in nearby visitor parking garages: Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall and Sennott Square (SOSAM and SENSQ on the printable campus map). Visitors using GPS devices should input Posvar Hall’s street address: 230 South Bouquet Street

By Allegheny County Public Transit:

Posvar Hall is easily accessible via public transportation. Bus routes that serve the Pitt campus include the 61A/B/C/D and 71A/B/C/D (most frequent), as well as the 28X, 54C, 58, 67, 69, 75, 81, 83, 93, and P3 routes. The nearest bus stops (all one or two blocks away) are Forbes Avenue at Bigelow Boulevard, Forbes Avenue at Bouquet Street, or Fifth Avenue at Thackeray Avenue. By Air:

Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is the region’s busiest air hub and is located 35-50 minutes west of campus. Nonstop flights are available to and from major cities worldwide including Paris, Frankfurt, Reykjavik, Toronto, Cancun, New York, Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Detroit, Atlanta, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Dallas, Miami, Austin, Charlotte, Minneapolis, Denver, Nashville, Tampa, Orlando, Raleigh/Durham, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Richmond, Louisville, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Hartford, Baltimore, Ft. Myers, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Albany, Savannah, Myrtle Beach, West Palm Beach, Bradford, Hagerstown, San Juan, Punta Cana, Montego Bay, and others. From Pittsburgh International Airport, transportation to campus is available via the 28X bus ( or shuttle/taxi service that can be hailed on-site at the air terminal.

More limited air service is also available at the Latrobe/Arnold Palmer Regional Airport (LBE) approximately one hour east of campus by car, which offers direct flights to Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, Ft. Myers, and Myrtle Beach. Ground transportation from Latrobe Airport is primarily by rental car. (

By Train:

Pittsburgh (station code: PGH) is served daily by two Amtrak routes. The Pennsylvanian line connects to New York, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Lancaster, and points east. The Capitol Limited line connects to Chicago, Washington, Cleveland, and points in between. Visit for schedules and details. 

By Interstate Bus:

Pittsburgh is served daily by Megabus and Greyhound, with direct routes to cities including New York, Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia, Detroit, St. Louis, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Harrisburg, and others. Visit or for information.

Where to Stay:

The following hotels are within walking distance of GSPIA. Many hotels offer discounts or special rates to guests visiting the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to these, Pittsburgh is known for its large number of high-quality boutique hotels, many of which are located a few miles from campus in downtown, East Liberty, Shadyside, and other neighborhoods. Visitors are encouraged to look into those options as well.
