The Office of Career Services works with you throughout your time at GSPIA to prepare you for successful careers post-graduation. Beginning with an entrance appointment in the summer before classes begin, your assigned career counselor will review your resume, discuss your career objectives, and help you devise a career development plan. During your first year at GSPIA, you will participate in the Professional Development Program (PDP), a four-week seminar designed to jumpstart your internship search and refine the skills necessary for a successful job search. Throughout the academic year, Career Services offers a variety of programming designed to provide you with field-specific information, access to employers, and opportunities to network with alumni.
GSPIA students enrolled in the MID, MPA, and MPIA programs are required to complete a 300-hour internship as part of their academic program. Students intern in Pittsburgh and Washington, across the U.S., and around the world. GSPIA offers the chance to study and intern in Washington DC in both the fall and spring semesters.
