Graduate School of Public and International Affairs Director of Recruitment and Admissions Danae Williams spent the day at the White House in early December, speaking to federal appointees about Pitt’s top-ranked graduate programs.
The closed panel was hosted by the Presidential Personnel Office of the Biden-Harris Administration and took place at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, part of the White House complex. Speaking to approximately 40 Biden-Harris appointees, panelists provided insights into Master of Public Administration and Master of Public Policy programs and offered guidance on navigating the graduate admissions process. Williams was invited to represent the University of Pittsburgh alongside admissions representatives from institutions including Princeton University, Syracuse University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, and the University of Pennsylvania.
“Being invited to an event of this nature underscores the national recognition of The University of Pittsburgh’s leadership in graduate education and public service,” Williams said after the event. “It provided a unique platform to showcase our commitment to equipping students to tackle society’s greatest challenges while strengthening our visibility among future leaders in government and public policy.”
Following the panel, Williams was invited with her peers to attend a coffee reception in the West Wing of the White House- an honor she won’t soon forget!
“It was a privilege to spotlight Pitt’s strengths and connect with other individuals deeply committed to public service,” she shared.
