University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs' Dean Dr. John T.S. Keeler released this statement today:
The recent demonstrations against police brutality are a call for everyone to reflect on the ways we need to do work in our own community. We as the GSPIA community feel tremendous grief and anger over the suffering and violence that is disproportionately inflicted on Black Americans and other people of color. We want to express our support for our students who are affected by the reality of systemic racism in our country.
We are taking the opportunity to reiterate that the GSPIA community aspires to be diverse and inclusive, and that we are committedly and decisively opposed to racism in all of its forms and manifestations. We stand committed, with you, to the important and difficult work of change in our school, our University, and society more generally.
If there is anything you want to share, we are listening. We want to learn from you on how we can best support you. For a safe and anonymous place to convey your thoughts, please click here.
