Katie M. Whipkey

PhD Student

Katie Whipkey is a PhD candidate at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. Her current research focus is on feminist foreign policy. Katie is investigating the drivers for its adoption and its intersection with international and local civil society advocacy. She has a background in policy analysis and research, most recently focused on women’s rights and inclusion, civic space, inclusive governance, conflict and peacebuilding, gender-based violence, and disaster recovery. Katie's work is based primarily in fragile and conflict affected settings.
