The Graduate School of Public and International Affairs honors its most outstanding students every year with awards that celebrate their many accomplishments. Honorees are selected in March and receive their awards during the graduation ceremony.
GSPIA Awards
- Dean’s Award

Out of the top-ranking students from each degree program, this honor is awarded by the GSPIA Awards Committee to the student deemed best in the overall graduating class.
- Program Faculty Awards

These awards are given to the top students in each degree program. Winners are referred by the Office of Student Services and selected by the Program Faculty Awards Committee.
Endowed Awards
- Gloria Fitzgibbons Memorial Award

Given to a female honoree in high scholastic standing, who is graduating from the MPA or MPPM program with potential to become a recognized public administrator.
- David Oeler Award in Information Systems

Given to an outstanding student in the field of information systems.
- Taraknath Das Foundation Award

Given to an outstanding student with a primary interest in the international problems of Asia.
- Sergeant James “Rip” Taylor Award

Given to a student with financial need who has shown outstanding academic achievement and exemplifies Sergeant Taylor’s spirit of public service.
- Kevin Morrison Memorial Award

Given to the student with the most outstanding work in statistics and quantitative methods during the academic year.
